This is what it looks like when you spend a week 400 kilometres from the nearest road. I’d say it’s untouched, but there’s been humans here for a few centuries at least. And, as you can see, our camp is not exactly low impact.
I had about 15 minutes of free time the whole time I was there, so my photo ops were limited; this set is from a morning where I was up *slightly* early, so I had a chance to snap photos of my surroundings. If you want to see what the land really looks like, you’ll have to wait for the film to come out…
This is as cold as it got: Frost on the ground in the morning. Gas station. Yes, we had power boats. Vince doing what Vince does. The cookhouse, complete with woodstove. Not sure whose tent this was, but they had a private, heated tent! Home for the week. View from my hotel in Yellowknife. A striking contrast to the natural beauty in which I spent the previous week. We didn’t weigh it, so I can’t to the usual fishing brag … but it’s a big fish. That trout is the size of my leg.
